How&nbsp;We&nbsp;Met: Like&nbsp;many&nbsp;modern&nbsp;couples,&nbsp;we&nbsp;met&nbsp;online.&nbsp;What&nbsp;started&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;simple&nbsp;message&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;dating&nbsp;app&nbsp;quickly&nbsp;turned&nbsp;into&nbsp;a&nbsp;conversation&nbsp;we&nbsp;didn’t&nbsp;want&nbsp;to&nbsp;end.&nbsp;He&nbsp;messaged&nbsp;first,&nbsp;and&nbsp;before&nbsp;long&nbsp;we&nbsp;were&nbsp;talking&nbsp;every&nbsp;day. When&nbsp;we&nbsp;finally&nbsp;met&nbsp;in&nbsp;person,&nbsp;he&nbsp;showed&nbsp;up&nbsp;wearing&nbsp;glasses…&nbsp;which&nbsp;caught&nbsp;me&nbsp;off&nbsp;guard&nbsp;because&nbsp;his&nbsp;profile&nbsp;pictures&nbsp;didn’t&nbsp;have&nbsp;them.&nbsp;Somehow&nbsp;that&nbsp;tiny&nbsp;surprise&nbsp;made&nbsp;the&nbsp;moment&nbsp;feel&nbsp;real&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;lot&nbsp;less&nbsp;like&nbsp;two&nbsp;strangers&nbsp;meeting,&nbsp;and&nbsp;more&nbsp;like&nbsp;two&nbsp;people&nbsp;who&nbsp;already&nbsp;knew&nbsp;each&nbsp;other. For&nbsp;our&nbsp;first&nbsp;date,&nbsp;he&nbsp;picked&nbsp;me&nbsp;up&nbsp;from&nbsp;my&nbsp;apartment&nbsp;and&nbsp;we&nbsp;spent&nbsp;the&nbsp;evening&nbsp;just&nbsp;talking&nbsp;and&nbsp;getting&nbsp;to&nbsp;know&nbsp;each&nbsp;other.&nbsp;I&nbsp;even&nbsp;met&nbsp;some&nbsp;of&nbsp;his&nbsp;family&nbsp;right&nbsp;away,&nbsp;and&nbsp;instead&nbsp;of&nbsp;being&nbsp;awkward,&nbsp;it&nbsp;felt&nbsp;comfortable&nbsp;and&nbsp;natural. We&nbsp;laughed&nbsp;a&nbsp;lot&nbsp;and&nbsp;realized&nbsp;pretty&nbsp;quickly&nbsp;this&nbsp;wasn’t&nbsp;going&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;a&nbsp;one-time&nbsp;date. From&nbsp;that&nbsp;night&nbsp;on,&nbsp;we&nbsp;just&nbsp;kept&nbsp;choosing&nbsp;each&nbsp;other. What&nbsp;started&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;simple&nbsp;message&nbsp;turned&nbsp;into&nbsp;a&nbsp;friendship,&nbsp;then&nbsp;a&nbsp;relationship,&nbsp;and&nbsp;eventually&nbsp;a&nbsp;life&nbsp;together. Apparently&nbsp;the&nbsp;glasses&nbsp;were&nbsp;a&nbsp;good&nbsp;sign&nbsp;-&nbsp;Jake&nbsp; We’re&nbsp;so&nbsp;excited&nbsp;to&nbsp;celebrate&nbsp;with&nbsp;all&nbsp;of&nbsp;you&nbsp;in&nbsp;May!
